Couple of hours to a New Year…………………….Ippo rivet thaan di maamu. There goes my 300GB HDD my new FlashDisk and Wifi :-(

Yeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhoooooooooo

I got my own i-pod shuffle on monday……

Shuffle

Naaaaaaaaaaah Not that old thing i got this……..

My Shuffle

Yeaaaaaah Baby!. i own this new ipod shuffle thanks to my Bro-In-Law. Man…..its awesome

The world’s smallest digital music player with 1 Gig space lets me cram around 250 songs into it. The size is awesome. Its smaller than a matchbox & weighs less than one too. The packaging was awesome…of course..it had to be….Its Apple’s :-) Anyway i installed itunes first and then plugged my pod into its dock and then to the usb………Vola! It was magic. Itunes recognized my pod and started the initial setup..i named my pod “Shyam’s Pod” I did not want to give it a fancy name……ITS MY POD why the hell would i name it otherwise.

The next task was to load it with a few tunes…..ok not a few, but cram it with every tune possible. But filling 1gig manually was a boring task. i could not wait to listen to the tracks thru the pod so..i pound on “Auto Fill” and that was it, 1 Gig of pure music. So i turn it on and ……….”Pure Ecstasy”. The sound was awesome. I had a Sony NS-11 player earlier which was pretty good but this makes it look & sound like crap.

I’ve heard people comment that the taste of chocolate was better than sex, If that was true then……..i’d say Good Music on an i-pod its way better than chocolate.

V

voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin van-guarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition.

……Yeah, That’s the dialogue from the movie V for Vendetta. Sunday….aaah time to stay put at home and pop in a good movie. This week i chose “V For Vendetta”…Now I am speechless

V

Now let me break down the movie into 3 parts

1. The Plot

The plot is excellent, it is a story of real ideas not science fiction , but a genuine examination of the human condition. The power of fear is the main theme, the fear of war, of disease, of famine. The dialogues are Intense, witty and most importantly intelligent. The hero is V , a masked terrorist with vengence in mind, a taste for the eloquent, and a hand for knife-wielding acrobatics. His apprentice is Evey, a young woman V saved from corrupt Fingermen (cops in the movie..though i’m not sure which finger they had in mind :-) ). And hot on his trail is Chief Inspector Eric Finch.

2. The Cast

Hugo Weaving …. V
Natalie Portman …. Evey Hammond
Stephen Rea …. Chief Inspector Eric Finch.

These three characters really stand out in this movie. The best was Hugo Weaving’s performance. It is definitely what grabs you from the start. He delivers some of the hardest lines with incredible charisma. His performance is awesome throughout the movie. Natalie Portman has done a very good job as Evey and her performance is totally different from her other movies.

3. Visuals

Everything looks beautiful, dark yet vibrant. The cinematography is top notch. The final battle scene was really amazing.

“Remember, remember, the fifth of November, gunpowder treason and plot.

I see no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.” - V

Loved this fusion.

Lemme out…
Your Inner Child Is Naughty

Like a child, you tend to discount social rules.
It’s just too much fun to break the rules!
You love trouble - and it seems that trouble loves you.
And no matter what, you refuse to grow up!
Naughty…Who Me?
I like walking in the rain cause no one knows i’m crying

A movie that will make even the most macho man cry?? Maybe.. I’m talking about the movie Rain Man. I watched the movie last night(for the 8th time) and haven’t been able to get it out of my head. IMO i feel its Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise’s best performance. Two brothers, one successful and the other mentally challenged, are reunited. They both learn how to live with each other and eventually learn to love each other.

Dustin Hoffman is my favorite actor. I’d watch him in any role. I was amazed at the way he pulled off this role. The vacant stare, the monotone voice, the screaming, it was unbelievable. Each time I watch it I am floored by his talent. Tom Cruise is also good(i hate that SOB), the villain of the story who undergoes such a subtle change that it’s almost not visible until nearly the end, but I suppose it is very clear and easy to say that Dustin acts him off the screen. No wonder he won the Oscar!!!

This is a good drama that gives an idea of what living with an autistic person must be like. I’ve heard my cousin talk about autistic kids and though it gave me a general idea of what it would be like to take care of such a kid/person…this movie kinda shows how it actually is.

The best scene in the movie has to be the scene in the motel where Charlie discovers who “Rain Man” really is. Clever, brave and superbly done, Rain Man download it, buy it, leech it..its up to you but don’t miss it.

I was too lazy to build one…

I’ve been getting a lot of flack for the way my blog looks. I hear things like…what’s with the grass…The image does not blend well…the color theme is ok but could be better etc etc…i guess its because of the nature of my work (I’m in multimedia)
Well people…..here’s it is..

I was too lazy to build a custom layout. This is a default WP theme that i lifted off da net.

Eventful Weekend

Damn!!! I wish i was a kid again. Now what triggered this thought?? Well i met my buddies from school this weekend and as usual we were talking about all the crazy stuff we had been through and suddenly we realized that we hardly get time to meet. The craziest thing is this, my office is a 5 minute walk from my buddy’s office and yet we hardly meet not even for lunch. Back home i was thinking about how carefree life was when i was a kid. No thoughts about deadlines, work pressure, investments, expenditure, updating myself professionally etc etc…all i had to think was do i finish my homework now or should i copy it from someone from school the next day?. It was mostly the latter. I could play a song i liked really loud, over and over without worrying about what others might think. All the games where we made up the rules along the way. All those stamp trades, thirutu ice-creams. Life Was Good!!!. I’m not saying i lead a crappy life now, Life is still good. Its just that it has become very mechanical and I’ve gotta make schedules for everything now..wait its time for me to scratch……………….Ah that felt good.

I met another interesting person this week..My Lecturer from college. It was nice to see him after all these years. I thought he’d have trouble remembering me but he recognized me immediately which is good, but he remembered me as the skinny guy who always kept talking and causing trouble. Well…I’m proud of that too coz i believe that “if you cannot be part of the solution…be part of the problem” :-)

Talking about problems i had a nice argument with a colleague of mine. It was basically a Veg Vs Non-Veg argument. While he argued about vegetarians being similar to animals coz they basically eat leaves and fruits, a thought popped in my mind…Who was the first person to say, “See that chicken over there … I’m gonna eat the first thing that comes out if its butt”?. Well to each their own what can i say :-P . i also overheard a couple of girls talking about “Split-Ends”…doesn’t that make you wonder, why don’t the hairs on your arms get split ends?

I have been thinking about getting a new mobile phone…I am tempted to get a SE K750i…but i have been successfully resisting temptation till now. I was talking about this to Karthik..our company’s IT-Manager and he asked me not to buy it now and wait for some more time and prices will drop. He even used the famous “Good things comes to those who wait” line. Let me ask you this, aren’t the ‘good things that come to those who wait’ just the leftovers from the people that got there first?

Anyway i will be getting the new mobile soon but the only thing that’s holding me back is the fact that SE is coming out with more new models, i don’t want to buy the K750i and then regret not buying a higher model later. Anyways i gotta get it soon coz companies are now giving away free gifts which brings me to another question Why do companies offer you “free gifts?” Since when has a gift NOT been free?
